Abbey is still doing great and sleeping all the time. Harold just finished making our whelping box so here is a picture. Just finished the staining last night. I sure like it so far, guess we will see how good it works in one week!!!

]]><![CDATA[Abbey's Pregnancy - 53 days]]>Fri, 11 Mar 2011 02:48:28 GMThttps://www.khylor.com/blog/post-title-click-and-type-to-editWell today was another weigh day for Ms Abbey, she is weighing in at a hefty 99.2lbs - that is a total of 22 lbs so far!! Wow... I sure am wondering how many puppies she has in there!!
So during her 8th week of pregnancy we should be able to soon feel the puppies move when Abbey is resting (if only she would hold her breath and stop panting ;) ). The changes that I have noticed in Abbey recently are that she is HUGE, she is always warm and is always looking for a nice cool/cold floor to lay on, she is eating smaller meals but more frequent, and she sleeps almost all of time... She sure reminds me of me when I was pregnant!! Expect I can't remember eating smaller meals!!!
My wonderful husband finished the whelping box today which means I just have to get it stained now, that will hopefully be the project for tomorrow night. I will post a picture when its completed.
Today Abbey is 53 days pregnant which means the countdown has started... 10 days to go!!! Very Excited!

]]><![CDATA[Abbey's Pregnancy - 44 days]]>Wed, 02 Mar 2011 01:26:37 GMThttps://www.khylor.com/blog/abbeys-pregnancyToday is the first day of March and started out as a cold -45 degrees celcius! I wonder if that qualifies as "in like a lion?" If so we are sure hoping for out like a lamb :)
Today Abbey is 44 days pregnant and her little belly is continuing to grow and she is sleeping lots. At this stage in her pregnancy the puppies should become colored (the pigment develops)! So exciting! We have added extra food to her diet as well as started adding yogurt, cottage cheese, ester C, and eggs. We want her to have all the nutrients she needs to keep her babies healthy! We will take her in on Thursday for her 6 week weigh-in. To-date Abbey is up over 7lbs from her insemination date... She is a growing momma.
We are going to start working on the whelping box this week and most of the supplies have be bought.
The countdown begins!!
